Sarah E. Uhrik is a Central Florida native, born and raised in Lake County, Florida. Sarah earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida and her Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois (now known as the University of Illinois College of Law). Sarah was admitted to the Illinois Bar and the Northern District of Illinois Bar. While practicing as an Illinois attorney, Sarah focused on various aspects of civil litigation, estate planning, not-for-profit tax planning, and various aspects of corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions. During that time, Sarah realized each area of her practice presented its own unique tax consequences requiring proper planning and implementation. That realization inspired her to pursue advanced studies in taxation, and she earned her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in taxation, with honors. Sarah concentrated her tax studies in two fields: wealth management, transfer, and succession for high-net-worth clients; and for-profit and not-for-profit tax planning.

Sarah later returned to Florida and was admitted to the Florida Bar. Shortly thereafter, she joined the estate planning team at the Lake Sumter Landing Office of McLin Burnsed, where she was the first female attorney to be elected to the firm’s Board of Directors as an equity member in its over 50-year history. When McLin Burnsed formally ceased operations in 2025, Sarah and her partners, Jeffrey P. Skates and Loren M. Vasquez, established Skates Uhrik Vasquez Law.

Sarah practices in comprehensive estate planning—including complex and high-net-worth trust planning—and probate and trust administration, and she serves as trustee in countless administrations. Additionally, Sarah handles corporate formation, maintenance and dissolutions, general business law, and partnership matters for businesses throughout Central Florida and also provides corporate planning, business succession planning, and not-for-profit tax advice. Sarah works closely with financial advisors and certified public accountants to help her clients achieve their goals.

When not working, Sarah enjoys spending time with her daughter Ramona, her son Elliot, and her husband Dr. Matthew Uhrik, D.C. Sarah enjoys traveling, photography, camping, cooking, and going to the beach.
